
Delivery Bike Monitoring & Tracking
Project Objective
The objective was to implement Digital Twin's comprehensive asset monitoring and tracking solution for a South African motorbike manufacturer in order to improve delivery bikes logistics efficiency, safety, and operational performance.
Project Scope
We implemented our asset monitoring and tracking solution specifically for delivery bikes, focusing on:
Electricity
Generators
Solar Systems
Water
Wi-Fi
Fire Detection
People Counting
Real-time location tracking using GNSS/GPS technology
Safety and event monitoring through crash detection and geofencing
Driver behaviour, bike performance metrics, and environmental monitoring
Visualisation and control via our integrated dashboarding software
Project Execution
1. Design and Manufacturing
We design, manufacture, and source IoT devices specifically engineered for our asset monitoring and tracking solution. This ensures that our solution aligns with customer requirements, enabling the monitoring and tracking of all delivery bikes.
2. Hardware Implementation
The implementation of this project included the installation, configuration, and testing of our asset tracking devices on all the delivery bikes.
3. Data Acquisition
Once the devices are installed, configured, and tested we then collect and process real-time data from the connected devices, which allow for the monitoring and control of all delivery bikes within a fleet.
4. Visualisation & Control
The real-time data seamlessly integrates into our in-house management console, where dashboards consolidate data from all delivery bikes into a single platform. This not only provides an overview for fleet management, real-time tracking and data visualisation, but also enables instant alert notifications for events such as crashes, theft, low fuel levels, reckless driving, speeding, panic alarms, etc.
